Mamai Sling launches its own website!!! Two years after its conception and with a dozen stores carrying Mamai Slings throughout the country, it was time for Mamai Sling to branch off from PetitsCadeaux and launch Mamai Sling into the online world as it's own entity. Now customers will be able to purchase slings on-line, and retailers will be able to re-order on-line. Petitscadeaux started with three generations of one family coming together to create baby slings out of fun, fashionable and practical fabrics. "We started making baby slings when my second son was born because I wanted a light fabric for summer and something warmer for the winter and I didn't see anything I liked in the local stores" said owner Mariela Ciani. "I set out to ask my grandmother to make me a couple slings. Shortly after that, a great friend of mine asked if my grandmother could make her a couple of slings to welcome the arrival of her second son, soon after that we had another request and another. Our slings were such a hit, that we decided to take our samples out to select retailers. Our timing was perfect because several of the stores were researching sling vendors and when they learned that we were local to the seacoast they selected us right away. We are thankful to our local retailers because we feel that their excellent reputation played an important role in getting our products into other stores throughout the country." Many of our customers and vendors ask about where our brand name came from...Mamai is a nickname given to Mercedes Vargas by her 3rd great-grandson which is now the name all the other great-grand kids use. There really was no other option for us when it came to branding our slings because our inspiration to create slings for other parents came from raising two little boys whose best place to snuggle up is in a sling made by their Mamai! Family businesses can be tricky, but for us, there is something very special about starting a business with my mother and grandmother. They are both very creative and have been designing and sewing for years, practicing what their grandmothers taught them. So, I feel proud to honor a trade that has been in my family for generations and bringing to others clothes that are designed with care, using high quality fabrics and excellent workmanship. We are very proud of our products and it means a great deal to us that we are providing parents with a useful parenting tool such as the baby sling. We will continue to expand our fabric collection and promise to always provide our clients and vendors with great customer service. It has been great fun carrying my kids in our slings and dressing them in the clothes we’ve designed and seeing our products displayed in stores. This year we look forward to servicing more customers nationwide with Mamai Sling's new on-line store!
